Forza Horizon 6 Hidden Landmark Guide: Kitayama Big Daisugi

If you are working through the Discover Japan photography journal in Forza Horizon 6, the Kitayama Big Daisugi hidden landmark is one of the easier locations to miss. It sits deep in the forest on the western side of the map, and unless you intentionally explore the mountain roads near Ito, you can easily drive past it without realizing the landmark is there.
The good news is that the location is actually pretty simple to reach once you know where to start.
Where to Find Kitayama Big DaisugiThe Kitayama Big Daisugi landmark is located in the Ito Region on the far western side of the map. The easiest way to reach it is by using the Ito Airfield as your starting point.
From the airstrip, drive north-northwest and start climbing into the hills. After a short drive, the environment changes from open roads into a dense forest area filled with tall cedar trees. These oversized Japanese cedar trees are the main visual clue that you are in the correct location.
The road becomes narrower and more wooded as you go uphill, so if you suddenly find yourself surrounded by massive trees and heavy forest cover, you are very close to the hidden landmark.
What Makes This Landmark Easy to MissUnlike some landmarks that have large structures or obvious map markers, Kitayama Big Daisugi blends naturally into the environment. There is no giant building or neon sign pointing you toward it.
A lot of players miss it because they stay on the main roads near the airfield instead of driving deeper into the forested mountain area. The landmark only registers once you actually enter the correct zone and activate Photo Mode.
How to Complete the Photo ChallengeOnce you arrive in the forest area, completing the challenge is straightforward.
Open Photo Mode anywhere within the Kitayama Big Daisugi zone. You do not need a perfect angle or special weather conditions. Just make sure the large cedar trees are clearly visible in the background of the photo.
I found it easiest to park slightly off the road and angle the camera upward so the tall trees filled most of the frame. As soon as the game recognizes the location, the landmark will automatically register in your Collector’s Journal.
This counts toward your Discover Japan progression and helps unlock additional rewards tied to regional exploration.
Best Route to Reach the Area QuicklyIf you are struggling to find the exact forest entrance, try this route:

• Fast travel to Ito Airfield
  
• Exit the runway heading north
  
• Follow the uphill road toward the mountains
  
• Stay on the forest path instead of returning to the coastal highway
  
• Look for dense clusters of extremely tall cedar trees
  

Off-road vehicles and rally builds make the climb easier, especially during rainy weather when the mountain paths become slippery.
Hidden Bonus NearbyOne useful thing to know is that there is also a hidden Barn Find rumored to be located south of the Kitayama Big Daisugi forest area.
After progressing far enough in the Discover Japan stamp system, you may unlock the related rumor event. When that happens, head downhill just south of the cedar forest and search the nearby area carefully. Many players discover the Barn Find shortly after completing the landmark photo challenge.
Because of this, it is worth spending a few extra minutes exploring the surrounding roads instead of immediately fast traveling away.
